Empanadas (Argentina) Family Recipe.

  • 1 Pound of chopped meat (Preferably organic or grass fed)
  • 1 large or medium sized onion chopped into small pieces
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of cumin powder
  • salt pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of paprika 
  •  Pinch hot pepper
  • Onion powder (To taste)
  • 1 handful of scallions
  • Handful of green olives

             Instructions

Sautee onions and pepper till soft, add salt and pepper . Add the meat , mix it . Sprinkle the onion powder, paprika, cumin powder, and just a pinch of pepper flakes to add to flavour. You can also add a bit of tomatoe paste to make it a bit thicker, but just a half a teaspoon. Cook it at slow heat for about 3o minutes. Let it cool off and add scallions and chopped green olives. Some people like to add a bit of olive juice. But do everything to taste for best results. Get empanada shells, fill them and seal. When you purchase the shells, make sure you notice which ones are to be baked, or fried. Some are good for baking or frying too.
